The latest item in our series of highlights from Dean Castle's Collections is an ear dagger.

Pictured is a rare and particularly fine example of an ear dagger, so called because it's pommel resembles an ear.

Composed of steel, brass and ivory the dagger was made in Spain and belongs to the collections of the 8th Lord Howard De Walden.

Dean Castle will reopen in Spring 2023.
